Wake Up

When I wake in the morning, I assess my aches and pains (they seem to multiply as I get older), hop out of bed, head downstairs, quickly put on my shoes and hit the pavement before I can talk myself out of going for a run.  I return home out of breath, but somehow invigorated and ready to conquer the day.  As I stretch (it tends to help with the aches and pains), I do my daily devotions and reflect on the day ahead.  Who will I make feel better today?  How will I fight negativity?  What am I going to do with the 86,400 seconds that I have been given?  When I do not have the time, who will I stop and listen to?

Wake up with intentionality and choose to do something great.  Plan on getting a little better each day – it doesn’t all have to be done right now.  Enjoy the journey you are on and remember the little things that got you there.  Read, smile, laugh, connect with someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, take a chance at something you may fail, thank a stranger, compliment your spouse or loved one, encourage your child, listen to others and most important WAKE UP!
